To Open February 2020 At The Shops At Wailea, Maui’s Premier Shopping And Dining Destination

Johnny Was, California-based women’s fashion lifestyle brand, is pleased to announce their store opening at The Shops at Wailea on February 7, 2020.

Located in the popular outdoor shopping destination, the 2,000 square foot store will stay true to Johnny Was’ timeless style, artistry, and authenticity while incorporating the spirit of Maui.

Artist Sage Vaughn will create his well-known collage-like floor to ceiling floral paintings using traditional tropical Hawaiian flowers commonly used throughout the islands in ceremonial leis and garlands. A mix of modern and vintage furnishings compliment the artwork, with Italian tile floors, marble tables, oak fixtures, and bronze hardware.

“We are excited to expand our presence in Maui and throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Our range of color, print, and style is perfect for island life,” says Rob Trauber, CEO of Johnny Was.

“We can’t imagine a better fit for The Shops at Wailea than Johnny Was,” said Diana Whitt, General Manager/Vice President Property Management for The Festival Companies, the management company of The Shops at Wailea. “Their collections beautifully capture the mood and spirit that our guests seek out, and we are so thrilled to welcome them to The Shops.”

The store will feature Johnny Was’ well-known range of worldly luxurious silks, linen, and cotton fabrics embracing the carefree wanderlust spirit. Collection pieces include 70s inspired linen tunics, sequins slip dresses, light drawstring pant, light denim, and timeless dusters. A wide variety of signature prints and intricate embroideries appear on kimonos, relaxed-fit pants, blouses, silk pajamas, contrasting swimwear, and a beautiful selection of jewelry to round out the versatile collection.

In addition to Johnny Was’ signature women’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections, the space is also home to Johnny Was’ recently added collection of Italian leather handcrafted bags and vibrant homeware including serving plates, mixing bowls, jewelry boxes, and more. Talia, Johnny Was’ fragrance, will be available in eau de parfum, oil, and candle.
