To Open First Westport, CT Boutique On Main Street, In The Historic Shopping District

Westport, CT – (July 3, 2020) – Johnny Was, California-based women’s fashion lifestyle brand, is pleased to announce expansion in New England with the opening of their first store in downtown Westport, CT on July 3rd.

Located on Main Street, in Westport’s historical district, the 2,000 square foot store will mix local heritage while staying true to Johnny Was’ effortless sensibility, artistry, and authenticity with brightly colored murals, Italian tile floors, reclaimed wood tables, oak fixtures with bronze hardware, and a mix of custom and antique furniture. Local heritage will be felt throughout by playing homage to Carmine, one of Westport’s legendary shopkeepers who owned a candy shop and would pass candy to the neighborhood children including Johnny Was’ own CEO Rob Trauber. Johnny Was will continue the tradition with glass canisters filled with Carmine’s favorite candy to hand out.

“We are excited to expand our New England presence and open our first store in Westport’s historical district on Main Street. This location holds a personal nostalgia as I would frequent Main Street often as a child and always look forward to receiving candy from Carmine. I am happy we can continue his tradition. We look forward to providing the ultimate safe and personal shopping experience for our guests with all safety measures in place including masks, hand sanitizer, contactless payment, clothing sterilization, curbside pick-up and social distancing,” says Rob Trauber, CEO of Johnny Was.

The store will open with Johnny Was’ well-known range of luxurious worldly pieces for Summer including kimonos, swimwear, cover-ups, bomber jackets, slip dresses, dusters, relaxed-fit pants, blouses, silk pajamas in a variety of silk prints, embroideries, light linen, and soft cotton. A beautiful selection of jewelry to round out the versatile collection.

In addition to Johnny Was’ signature women’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections the store will carry masks, one to one donation, as well as Johnny Was’ recently added collection of Italian leather handcrafted bags, vibrant homeware including serving plates, mixing bowls, jewelry boxes, and more. Talia, Johnny Was’ fragrance, will be available in eau de parfum, oil, and candle.
